Birnin Kebbi – The Kebbi Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has trained 60 additional Special Marshals to complement its efforts in implementing road safety measures in the state.
The command’s Head of Special Marshals, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
He said that the 60 volunteers were subjected to a three-week rigorous induction course on road safety regulations and other traffic rules.
Muhammad explained that the special marshals policy and the induction course were meant to assist the commission in reducing road crashes, as well as enlightening the people on the importance of compliance with traffic rules.
He commended the volunteers for availing themselves of the privilege of the national assignment, stressing that special marshals were a voluntary service to the commission and the nation.
Muhammed reiterated that the special marshals were empowered to implement road safety rules and reprimand erring road users.
