Kebbi spends N550m to construct police and army barracks to strengthen security on borders (

BIRNIN KEBBI – The Kebbi State Government spent N550 million to construct barracks for the and as part of efforts to strengthen security along border settlements in Bagudo Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner for Works and , Alhaji Bello Tuga, disclosed this to newsmen Friday in Birnin Kebbi.

Tuga said the barracks which are in different stages of completion would be handed to the Federal Government when completed later in the year.

He said that the barracks were to provide accommodation for security personnel serving in border communities in the areas.

Tuga said the barracks would be equipped with , including administrative blocks, staff quarters, towers, generators and security guard .

He named to include parking lots, access roads, boreholes and electric power .

He said that the were aimed at enhancing and in border settlements and to curtail incessant clashes among the people. (NAN)
