BIRNIN KEBBI – The chairman of the Kebbi state governorship election petition tribunal,Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju,has pledged to adhere strictly to the constitution,electoral act and high court procedures.
Olanrewaju made the pledge in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, while addressing the inaugural sitting of the three-member panel that included, Justcie Usman Belgore and Justice Sadiq Wada.
He warned counsel that the tribunal would not tolerate lateness and unnecessary adjournments, assuring that fair hearing would be maintained.
He advised counsel to avoid “off-head and off-hand” presentation of their arguments, in preference to textual references that would be read to the tribunal.

Olanrewaju also advised Journalists to shun sensationalism in preference to reporting on proceedings of the tribunal.
NAN reports that the PDP governorship candidate, Bello Sarkin-Yaki, is challenging the election of Sen. Atiku Bagudu of the APC as the state governor. (NAN).
