Kalgo – Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed readiness to tackle the myriads of health-related challenges facing people of the state.
The Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu, made this known on Tuesday during inspection visit to Kebbi State Medical Centre in Kalgo to supervise the fifth medical outreach carried out by state health officials in the area.
Bagudu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Samaila Yombe, said “Kebbi State Government is ready to tackle the myriads of health-related challenges facing the people.”
He explained that the significance of the outreach was to bring specialised services closer to the people through the state government’s equity and accessible health services for all.
He added that the outreach would provide an avenue for medical professionals to work and acquire new skills by sharing experiences with their colleagues from different countries.
He said “it will also provide the opportunity for patients to have access to specialised professionals and specialised procedures which is free of charge.”
The Chief Medical Director of Kebbi State Medical Centre, Dr Aminu Bunza, said that the medical outreach was to provide opportunity for patients with serious illnesses to get treated.
He explained that more than 100 doctors from Nigeria and abroad, 200 nurses and 1,224 other medical staff participated in the medical outreach.
