BIRNIN KEBBI – Gov. Saidu Dakingari of Kebbi States has pledged adequate assistance to security agencies in order to maintain the low crime rate in the state.
Dakingari said this in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday when he received the seventh batch of the Institute of Security Studies led by the Deputy Director of Studies, Mr Babalola Adebayo.
The governor said that the security challenges in the state had been reduced through the provision of social security facilities to the people.
He said that such facilities included hospitals, schools, welfare to workers and establishment of skills acquisition centres.
Dakingari said that ‘in spite of the low revenue received from the federation account and low internally generated revenue, the administration had discouraged financial mismanagement”.
He said that a dry port would be established to encourage economic development within and outside the state, especially with neighbouring countries.
In his remarks, Adebayo said that the Course Seven participants of the institute were on a one-week tour of the state. (NAN).
