Lagos – The Lagos State Kickboxing Association on Monday said the body had concluded arrangements to hold the maiden Age Group Kickboxing Seminar to promote the sport at the grassroots.
The Technical Director of the association, Adegboyega Adeniji-Adele, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the programme had been tentatively scheduled for the last week of August.
Adeniji-Adele said that the participants would be grouped in three age categories to educate them on the latest trends in the sport.
“This seminar will be the first of its kind; it will involve participants from ages 10, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 18.

“It will avail us the opportunity to expose the athletes to the rudiments of the sport and the technicality involved.
“Most people see Kickboxing as a dangerous sport but that is not true, all sports have their own hazards,” he stressed.
He added that the seminar would be open to other martial arts athletes, urging them to take advantage of the programme.
Adeniji-Adele, however, commended 3way Communication for supporting the association’s plan to organise the seminar.
He appealed to other private bodies and well-meaning individuals to collaborate with the body in moving the sport forward. (NAN)
