Kidnap: Rescued monarch urges govt. to improve security in Nigeria

WAMAKKO () – Alhaji Salihu Barade, the District Head of Wamakko in , who was recently kidnapped and released  by his , has urged to enhance security in the country.

He made the call in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Wamakko, headquarters of Wamakko Local Area of the .

will be recalled Barade was kidnapped on April 8 at his farm in Wamakko at about 7.00 p.m. by four gunmen.

Barade was, however, released by his on April 10, near the farm of the Emir of Gummi in Zamfara.

” There is the need for the  improvement of security in Nigeria and not only around  the traditional rulers,” he said.

Barade, who is also the younger brother of Gov. Aliyu Wamakko, expressed gratitude to God for securing his safe release.

He urged to sustain fervent prayers for and in the country, describing his abduction as a fall- of the ” general insecurity in Nigeria”.

” I cannot, however, tell you whether a ransom was paid or not as they seized all telephone sets.

” I am, however, hale and hearty, but we were starving with as they took me to a forest.

” We had no for two days and I could not pray as there was no water in the place they took me to.” (NAN)
