Lokoja – The Kogi Agricultural Development Project (ADP) has distributed foodstuffs and other relief items to widows and orphans across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Managing Director of the ADP, Mr Oyisi Okatahi, at the presentation of the items at ADP headquarters in Lokoja on Saturday, said that the gesture was part of its corporate social responsibility projects.
“As part of the two year anniversary celebration of Gov. Yahaya Bello assumption of office, the governor has mandated us as an agency to be a blessing to the needy, especially the most vulnerable women, widows and orphans.
“So, Kogi ADP is distributing food stuff, provisions, detergents and ingredients worth millions of naira to widows and orphans through our headquarters and six zonal offices across the state.
“The six zonal offices include: Zone A – Aiyetoro-Gbede (Kogi West), Zone B – Anyigba (Kogi East), Zone C- Kotonkarfe (Kogi West), Zone D -Alloma (Kogi East), Zone E- Osara (Kogi Central), and Zone F- Ageva (Kogi Central),” Okatahi said.
According to him, Zones ‘E’ and ‘F’ are new ADP zonal offices, which would be ratified by the Kogi State Assembly in due course.
The managing director commended the governor for the initiative, which was targeted at alleviating the suffering of the vulnerable citizens of Kogi, especially at the grassroots. (NAN)
