Kuje – Kuje Area Council, FCT, has called on owners of illegally installed billboards seized by the council to come and reclaim their property or risk disposal.
Mr Adamu Sani, the Head, Department of Environment in the council, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kuje.
He said the billboards were seized for failure of the owners to officially register with the council before erecting them.
Sani said the call became necessary because the billboards had been in the council premises for over three months without the owners coming to reclaim them.
According to him, the council has observed with dismay that the accumulated structures are now a hiding place for vermin and reptiles.
He said the structures had constituted nuisance to the council premises contrary to Abuja Environmental Protection Board Act 10, Section 17 of 1997.
“In view of the above, owners of seized signboards in Kuje Area Council are requested to come and make necessary payments to collect the items or risk disposal,” he said.
