KANO – Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State on Friday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensure that the people of the state continue to enjoy the benefits of democracy.
Kwankwaso spoke in Kano while swearing in Alhaji Barau Jibrin as the state’s new Commissioner for Science and Technology at Government House.
The governor, who congratulated the new commissioner on the appointment, told him that he now had more responsibilities to the people of the state.
He also pledged to give the new commissioner all the needed support to excel on his job.
Jibrin, in response, thanked the governor for the opportunity given to him to serve the citizenry and promised to discharge his duties without fear or favour.
He also promised to work with other members of the cabinet, to bring more development to the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the inauguration of the commissioner followed his clearance by members of the State House of Assembly.
The nomination followed the resignation of Alhaji Bala Gwagwarwa as a commissioner, having been elected the National Treasurer of All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s convention in Abuja in June. (NAN)
