Ilorin -The Kwara House of Assembly on Wednesday condemned what it called the incessant harassment of residents living around the Federal Prisons, Okekura, llorin, by security agents attached to the facility.
The Assembly made the condemnation in a resolution after accepting a complaint on harassment of residents in the area.
A member, AbdulRafiu AbdulRahman (APC-Ilorin North West) had drawn the attention of the Assembly to the development under matters of urgent public importance.
He described the reported harassment of residents by the security agents attached to the prison as inhuman, saying such incidents had often paralysed economic activities in the area.
All members, who contributed to the debate, including the House Leader, Hassan Oyeleke, condemned the development and cautioned the security agents from further harassing residents.
The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad, while reading the resolution of the House urged the security agents to stop the act forthwith.

Ali directed the House Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary to visit the prison with a view to ascertaining other actions the House could take on the matter.
He gave the committee two weeks to submit its report.(NAN)
