Ilorin – The acting PDP Youth Leader in Kwara, Mr Femi Yusuf, has called on youths in the state to shun all forms drug abuse and devote their time to productive ventures.
Yusuf made the call on Wednesday in his message to the youth of the state on the occasion of the World Youth Day celebration.
He admonished youths to reflect on this year’s theme; “Youth Civic Engagement.” and make themselves agents of change in the society, instead of agents of destruction.
Yusuf also charged the youth to reflect on the theme and resist acts that could destabilise the peace and unity of the country.
“I call on our teeming youths in Kwara to look inward on what they can do to contribute to the development of the country.
“The future of this country belongs to the youth; we must not allow today’s leaders to destroy us and our future by using us for illegal and unlawful ventures,” Yusuf said.
The youth leader appealed to them to be more patriotic and join in President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption to secure a better future.
Yusuf decried the incessant attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the country which had affected many youths and displaced many Nigerians.
