OMU-ARAN – A group, Kwara South Frontiers, has called on Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara to contest the 2015 guber election.
The group made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Omu-Aran on Thursday. The statement, which was signed by the Secretary of the group, Mr Atolagbe Ayansola, said the governor’s achievements in the last three years had qualified him for another term in office.
It described as unfounded the rumour making the rounds that there was an existing agreement stopping Ahmed from seeking another term.

“ Three years into the administration of Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed in Kwara, the state has witnessed transformational and infrastructural development in various sectors.
“The notion that there was an agreement between the leader, Dr Bukola Saraki, and the governor on a single term of four years is the handiwork of enemies of the state,” the statement said.
The statement also said that the recent agitation for Kwara Central Zone to produce the next governor would amount to injustice.
It further described as baseless the notion that the central zone controls 55 per cent of the state’s votes, adding that it only controls 38 per cent. (NAN)
