Kwara Utd force Wikki Tourists to draw in GLO Premier league match

Bauchi- Kwara United goalkeeper, Ismaila Shagari, stole the show as his forced Wikki Tourists of Bauchi to a 1-1 in a GLO Nigeria match on Saturday.

Shagari made several saves during the encounter played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium ,Bauchi.

Kwara United struggled so much to wrestle the middle away from the Abdul Maikaba side but the resilient Tourists boys held on well to keep the result at goalless in the first 45 minutes.

Kwara United came out stronger in the second half as Ibrahim Babale and Segun Alebiosu switched positions to put on the host’ but the resilient Wikki Tourists defence held on well to curtail their threats.

Wikki Tourist scored in the 71 minutes when Emenike Onuoha converted a penalty kick.

Kwara United’s paid off in the 85th minute when Segun Alebiosu connected Evans Iyoro’ cross to nod home the equaliser.

Speaking after the match, Kwara United Technical Adviser, Tunde Abdulrahman, incidentally was Wikki’ coach last season in the Nigeria National League(NNL) praised players for doing a good job.

He said that the team was still undergoing rebuilding process and urged the fans of the club to continue to stay behind them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Kwara United garnered five points from three games.

The team forced Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt to a goalless draw in week one and beat El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 in Ilorin in week two. (NAN)
