Kafanchan (Kaduna) – Sen. Danjuma La’ah (PDP-Kaduna South), has described the death of Dr. Joseph Bagobiri, Bishop of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese in Kaduna State, as “a devastating blow to Nigeria and Nigerians”.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Bagobiri died in the early hours of Tuesday in Kaduna. He was aged 61.
“Bishop Bagobiri was a great spiritual guide to me personally. He has also been a major pillar in our struggle for peace, justice and development in the southern part of Kaduna State,” La’ah said in a statement.
He said that Bagobiri was endowed with high intelligence which he deployed into the struggle to make life better for the downtrodden.
Describing Bagobiri as “a shield and a true father to all”, he said that he would be sorely missed by many.
“To the millions of us who saw him as our shield, leader and mentor, his death has left us as orphans,” he said.
The lawmaker, however, said that he believed the late Cleric had accomplished his mission on earth and was assured of eternal reward.
La’ah condoled with the Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Kaduna State and the entire country over the loss, and prayed God to grant everyone the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. (NAN)
