Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Solomon Ndam has expressed confidence that the Labour Party flag bearers in the 2024 State re-run elections slated for February 3, will emerge victorious.
Ndam said Barr. Gyang Zi for Plateau North Senatorial District and Hon Daniel Asama for Jos North/Bassa federal constituency are fully prepared to win the race on Saturday.
The Chairman stated this in Jos on Friday.
“It is no longer news that our candidates for the re-run elections are Barr. Gyang Zi for Plateau North Senatorial District and Hon. Daniel Asama for Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency.
“The Labour party is going to win this election by the grace of God”, Ndam said.
He continued: “I want to use this medium to inform our citizens, especially Plateau North, that PDP is not participating in the rerun election.
“Our reasons are based on the appeal court judgement that removed Senator Simon Mwankon from the Senate and Hon. Musa Agah from the House of Representatives.
“The judgement of the supreme court that upheld the election of Governor Caleb Mutfwang is not binding on the state and national assembly judgements.
“Therefore, it will be an error of judgement if the people of Plateau North do not vote for Barr.Gyang Zi and Hon. Daniel Asama.
“They are detribalized Plateau sons that know no tribe or religion. A vote for the labour party is a vote for peace and development.
“Vote for the labour party to avoid the pains the PDP are going through at the moment.
“I use this opportunity to urge all citizens resident in Plateau North to come out in their numbers and vote for our party.
“I also use this medium to advise all our polling units agents to be upright not to betray the party by making sure that all the counting of results and collations are done in their presence.
“I however, advise the security agencies to be apolitical in their dealings with voters on the day of election”, he said.
