LAGOS – A renowned administrator, Elias Gora, said on Tuesday that the country’s participation at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Scotland could be marred by lack of funds.

Gora, was Team Nigeria’s Chef de Mission at the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games, said that prompt release of funds was strategic the nation’s success at the Glasgow Games. If those information are true and anything to go by then I am afraid.

“But if that information is not right and the federations are just not doing what they are supposed do or not having free hands to being properly financed to do so, then again I am entertaining fear.

“Because there is a tripartite collaboration make any Nigerian level of preparation for international engagement successful.

“That is say the National Commission, and the Commonwealth Games Association, as the case maybe, which is the NOC as well as the National Sports Federation.”
