Abuja (Sundiata Post) – In honor of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), has opened a condolence register at the headquarters of the academy, for sympathizers to pay their last respect.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu, had last Wednesday announced the death of the Chief of Army Staff, who died in Lagos.
Following the announcement, the country was thrown into mourning, especially the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.
The President also directed flags to be flown at half mast for seven days across the country to mourn the passing of the late Army General.
However, in a statement signed by the NDA Spokesman, Major Mohammed Maidawa, he said the Academy has announced the opening of a condolence register in memory of the late Army Chief.
“This gesture is to honor his significant contributions and unwavering service to our nation”, he said.
According to him: “The condolence register has been set up at the Headquarters of the NDA, located in Afaka.
“We invite members of the Academy community, as well as friends and acquaintances, to come and pay their final respects to an esteemed leader who dedicated his life to the security and well-being of our country.
“Your participation in this solemn occasion will be a fitting tribute to Lieutenant General Lagbaja’s legacy and a way to express our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones”, the statement reads.
