LAGOS – Dr Leke Pitan, Governorship Aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has promised to focus on human capital development, if elected as the state governor in 2015.
Pitan made the promise while addressing supporters at the Ikeja venue of “Dr Leke Pitan and Friends Free Medical Outreach” on Wednesday.
He said the programme would be enlarged to accommodate many people in the state if he became the governor.
“I can assure you to expect more of this programme, we are going to make the development of human capital our main focus,” he said.
Pitan, a former Commissioner for Healthcare Education in the state, assured the people that he would execute programmes and policies that would have positive impact on the people. [eap_ad_1] “Free healthcare delivery, free education and security for all are the social security nets that we will not allow anybody to fall below.
“We will ensure that people are able to send their children and wards to schools free without any financial barrier,” he said.
The governorship aspirant also assured the people that his administration would tackle headlong, the problem of housing in the state.
“This is not about building 200 or 500 units; but I am assuring you that mass housing will be built for Lagos residents, they will be affordable and accessible,” he said.
NAN reports that over 1500 people were treated for various illnesses, while 500 people were screened for eyes problems and given free drugs and glasses.(NAN)
