Lagos – For allegedly knocking down a pedestrian, a 29-year-old driver, Bello Idowu, has appeared before an Abule-Egba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, who lives at 14, Agege Road, Agege, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of reckless driving, manslaughter and causing bodily harm.
The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams told the court that the offences were committed on March 4 along Iyana-Ipaja Bus Stop, Lagos.
According to her, the accused drove his bus recklessly and killed a pedestrian, Akinloye Joshua.
“The accused also caused serious injuries to three people at the bus stop.’’

The offences, according to Williams, violate Sections 19 and 20 of the Road Traffic Law of Lagos State, 2012.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adenike Shonubi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to May 25. (NAN)
