“The NSCDC will be on ground to do everything possible to ensure security and protection of the country’s pipelines, eradicate illegal bunkering and protect the nation’s properties as part of our responsibilities,” Abati said.
He said that the agency was proactive in responding to emergency calls, intercepting oil thieves and managing disasters such as the fire incident that occurred on Monday at the Balogun market in Lagos Island.
Abati said that the NSCDC deployed a team of its personnel from the disaster management department to the scene of the fire.
“Our disaster management team was at the market in Lagos Island to stop the fire from escalating and managed the crowd,” he said. (NAN)
