LAGOS – The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, on Friday urged politicians to always give back to the society that elected them to promote peace and security.
Orelope-Adefulire gave the advice while speaking with newsmen after a meeting with some youths in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.
She observed that the society would be in peace when people are empowered financially.
“It is a good thing to give back to the society. When a woman is empowered, domestic violence will reduce; being a housewife is no longer fashionable.
“This is why we organised short-term vocational training for women in Lagos State,” the deputy governor said.
Orelope-Adefulire urged politicians to put in place political structures that would benefit their constituencies.
“It is good when we help the people in our constituencies, especially the youths, to move to higher levels.
“Leaders must have passion for empowering their people,” she said. (NAN)
