Lagos – The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) on Friday said it was ready for the 2015/2016 Premier League Season which kicks off on Feb. 21.
Dotun Coker, the Chairman, Technical Committee of LSFA, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that measures had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free season.
NAN reports that Mountain of Fire (MFM) FC and Ikorodu United are the two Lagos-based clubs in the premier league.
The two teams were promoted from the Nationwide League (NNL) to the premier league last season.
Coker said that the state FA had put in place all necessary preparations to ensure a successful season.
He said that the state governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, was looking forward to the upcoming league season.
Coker expressed hope that the state representatives would pick a continental ticket.
“They have prepared their teams by engaging in friendly matches; I am sure they are efficient in every department of the game.
“I am aware that His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, is very much interested in the teams doing well in the league, hopefully grabbing a continental ticket,’’ Coker said.
The technical committee chairman said that the FA would keep improving facilities and ensure adequate security at match venues.
“The government is giving so much support to the teams in terms of facility, upgrading the venues and publicity.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]

“We have beefed up security and will ensure fun-filled match days before and after every game for the enjoyment of families and other spectators,’’ Coker said.
