Lagos – The Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy says it plans to set up Citizen’s Information Centres across the state to further increase the information platforms of the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Ikeja as part of activities marking the first year anniversary of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration.
He said that this would serve as a one-stop shop for citizens to access public information.
Ayorinde reiterated that the state government would continue to ensure that residents had access to necessary information pertaining to the state.
The commissioner said that the state government had also revamped all information related agencies and parastatals to keep residents informed and up to date on government activities.
He said that this was in recognition of the fact that the management of information was crucial to the success or failure of any government.
The commissioner, who described information management in the state as quite challenging, said a lot of efforts were made to provide an environment conducive for journalists to operate. (NAN)
