Abuja- The Lagos State Gymnastics Association says it has postponed the Invitational Artistic Gymnastics Championship scheduled from Dec. 11 to Dec 13.

The Secretary of the association, Bintu Ojikutu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

Ojikutu said that the second edition of the championship was postponed due to some problems of logistics.

“The championship will now hold in 2015 due to some logistics problem, but I cannot reveal what the problems are.

“We had earlier invited all the states of the federation to intimate them that the championship will no longer hold as planned.

“I also cannot tell when exactly the championship will hold next year. The association will have to sit and deliberate on that,’’ Ojikutu said.

The secretary also said that the championship was to develop the skills of the gymnasts as well as keep them in shape.

NAN reports that Ondo State won the first edition of the championship in 2013 with five gold, three silver and five bronze medals. (NAN)
