Lagos – A 28-year-old housekeeper, Anna Payaro, who allegedly stole her employer’s money including dollars worth N3.1 million, was on Monday docked at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, who resides with her employer at Goshen Estate in Lekki area of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and housebreaking.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the accused with others still at large committed the offences on May 27 at 3.00 p.m. at Goshen Estate.
He alleged that the accused broke into the room of his employer (names withheld) and stole N300, 000, 1,000 dollars and 500 pounds.
The offences, according to him, contravene Sections 285 (10), 305 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded innocence of the offences.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs A. T. Omoyele, granted the housekeeper bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties, who should be gainfully employed, should also show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case to July 4 for mention. (NAN)
