Lagos judiciary embarks on 2014 Xmas vacation

LAGOS – The Lagos State Judiciary on Wednesday began its 2014 Christmas vacation which is expected to end on Jan.2, 2015.
A statement issued by the Acting Chief Registrar, Mrs A. O. Soladoye in Lagos, said work would resume on Jan. 5, 2015.
It said the vacation was approved by the state Chief Judge, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade, pursuant to Order 45 Rule 4 (C) of the High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2012.
The statement said arrangements had been made to handle urgent cases during the period.
“Each judge will deal with all urgent applications already before him/her and any substantive cause already assigned to him/her.
“Any urgent application and substantive cause which has not already been assigned will be dealt with by the judge to whom the application is specifically assigned,’’ it said. (NAN)
