The popular Carizma Hotels and Luxury in Lagos has been sealed by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources over noise pollution.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this via his X handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the hotel failed to comply after receiving multiple warnings.
Wahab wrote: “In furtherance of its campaign against noise pollution and other environmental infractions, LASEPA today sealed the Carizma Hotel and Luxury Suites located in the Abule Egba area of the State.
“Despite receiving multiple warnings and agreeing to guidelines in previous meetings with the agency, the hotel failed to comply with stipulated noise levels.
“The decision to seal the hotel was made and carried out today, 27th December 2023 after it violated the terms outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding signed during earlier meetings, which included commitments to cease noisy activities by 10 pm and adhere to approved noise levels.”
