Osogbo   –     A member of the Osun House of Assembly, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged Nigerians, irrespective of social-political leanings, to tolerate one another and pursue common goals capable of enduring peace and development.

Oyintiloye (APC-Obokun), gave this advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Osogbo.

The lawmaker, who was speaking on the backdrop of the killings in Benue, Rivers, Ondo and Kaduna States, said the citizens of heterogeneous society such as Nigeria, should learn to live together in harmony.

“We must ensure that this blood-letting and all acts of barbarism stop; human life is precious, no one has the right to cut short the life of any other person,’’ he said.

Oyintiloye, who is the House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy, however, called for intense measures that would put an end to bloodletting across the country.

He said that government authorities should ensure that the ugly incidences were properly investigated so that perpetrators could be brought to book.

Oyintiloye stressed the need for all inclusive peace conference that would bring all issues of conflict to the front burner.

According to him, the ongoing game blame will not solve the problem.

He said only the factors of honesty, openness, justice and fairness in handling national issues by government authorities could resolve the crisis.

Oyintiloye said he had confidence in the ability of President Muhammadu Buhari administration to stamp out militia groups and terror herdsmen syndrome in the country.

“Nigerians should embrace peaceful living, shun hate speeches and support the government in the fight against terrorism,’’ he said.
