Lagos – Dr Linus Okorie, President/Founder of an
NGO, Guardians of The Nation International (GOTNI), says the problem
confronting African continent is integrity and leadership.
Okorie, who spoke at the unveiling of GoldClub 3.0 and BMCoin
organised by BeepMagnet International Group, on Wednesday in Lagos,
said that lack of knowledge had prevented the continent from investing
in the future.
The GOTN Founder, who was the Special Guest Speaker at the occasion,
urged Nigerians to increase their investments in the future and growth
He said: “We are in a knowledge-based economy until you know, you
can’t invest. Knowledge drives progress. Africa is the most hit
continent that lacks leadership.
“The greatest deficit in Nigeria is simply the fact that most people
representing us in high-level positions lack integrity and honour and
that is why Nigerians don’t trust them. We need sincere and reliable
people.
“Most of the problem facing this country is lack of leadership, when
we have sincere leadership in this country; when we have people who
can speak the truth on a sense of justice, things will get shape,” he said.
Okorie said that GoldClub online community remained a real vision for
a global economy which everyone should have interest in.
According to him, some people are afraid to lead especially when the
world is changing to e-system.
“Anytime, we connect to the internet, somebody somewhere is making a
progress. There must be an appetite for learning, only those who learn
can see the future,’’ he said.
Okorie highlighted four critical leadership systems which included –
learning, observation, integrity, vision, and enterprise systems.
Mr Gilead Okolonkwo, the Managing Director/Chief
Executive Officer, BeepMagnet International Group, said that the
organisation was set up to provide a solution to the problem of
unemployment, knowledge gap and poverty.
“E-commerce is actually an area I have passion for and we have been
able to put years of experience together to provide the solution to some
of the challenges affecting our society today.
“In Africa at large, there is a knowledge gap and this has affected
us so badly that sometimes when the opportunity comes in, with regard to
e-space, we tend of miss it.
“We are bringing E-Commerce hub to match technology with innovation.
“Technology is the key and the scope at which technology will provide
the solution cannot be compared to when things are done
traditionally,’’ Okolonkwo said.
He, however, called on young Nigerians to invest in crypto-currency,
adding that Africa should look into crypto education to solve various
problems.
Okolonkwo added that blockchain technology could be used in land
registry, micro-credit financing and open legal system.
He said that mobile phones could be a shop in e-commerce, stressing
that so many people could make fortune in e-space.
“To solve this problem of unemployment, e-commerce knowledge gap and
financial freedom, we have built a community.
“We have built a closed e-commerce community called “GoldClub” with
the focus of taking our members from the dungeon of e-commerce gap to
a place of knowledge and financial freedom.
“We monetise the e-commerce space to give people a sense of belonging.
Our model will go a long way to help the society. Our e-commerce
solution is connected to need which is the provision of discount
service,’’ he said.
He said that the community would be negotiating products and services
for members to get value for their money and that the community would
have access to discount.
According to him, the first pillar of our organisation is connection
to three principles- Provision of a discount servicer, mentorship and
Personal Reward in Real Estate.
“We believe that discount is appealing to the rich and the
poor. We go our way to get discount for our members when they have
access to our online and offline discount cards.
“Young ones who have nothing doing can take advantage of mentorship
model to let others know about our discount service. We ask merchants
who want an increase in sales to offer us a discount and our members will
patronise,” he said.
Okolonkwo, who noted that the membership of the community had reached
100, 000, added that the organisation clocked one year on Sept 29.
Chief Oliver Edeh, the Vice President of GoldClub, said that the
e-space and crypto-currency was shrouded in mystery where fortune
could be earned.
GoldClub International is an online community that works at helping
its members get the best discounts, bonuses and deals across broad
categories of their lifestyle need as well as mentoring them in
e-commerce opportunities. (NAN)
