LAGOS A National Table Tennis Coach, Nosiru Bello, on Friday said that that new talents were discovered at the just concluded national club’s team league.
Bello told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, that participation of junior players enabled the federation to identify new talents.
He said that the standard of the competition was high, adding that the use of a new ball in line with the International Table Tennis (ITTF) directive increased the profile of the tournament.
“The competition was highly competitive; the junior players gave a good account of themselves despite playing against older players.
“ I am highly impressed with the performances of all the players that took part in the championship.
“We encouraged them to take part in the competition for them to be exposed and acquire more skills since they are upcoming players,” he said
NAN reports that 23 teams participated in the league. (NAN)
