ABUJA – There has been shock and disbelief  in many quarters as reports indicate that the Nigerian Army has disclosed that its officers and men acted upon the request of the Lagos State Government to break the #EndSARS protest which rocked the state and the Federal Capital Territory

Arise TV reports indicate that the Army said it acted on the invitation of the Lagos State government to put an end to #EndSARS protest.

Before now the Nigerian Army had claimed that it did not send officers to shoot at the protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on 20 October 2020. It had made strenuous efforts to discredit images and videos of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting.

Attempts to reach Mr Gbenga Omotoso, Commisisoner for Information and Strategy of Lagos state were unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report.
