JOS- The Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau, Mr Bitrus Zulfa, has commended the State House of Assembly for quashing his purported impeachment by the legislative arm of the council.
Zulfa who briefed newsmen on Thursday in Jos, thanked the speaker and members of the assembly for not recognising the illegality.
“As you are all aware, Plateau House of Assembly on Wednesday nullified the impeachment process which was carried out by some members of the legislators of the council.
“During their plenary, the assembly declared the impeachment drama that happened in Langtang North as null, void and ordered that status quo should be maintained.
“The Speaker, Yakubu Sanda, told his colleagues that there was no official communication from the council legislators for the removal of the council chairman.
“The house resolved that status quo be maintained pending the investigation of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy, headed by Ibrahim Baba Hassan,” he said.
Zulfa told the public, particularly people of Langtang North to disregard any purported impeachment making the rounds on the spacial media.
He assured them that he was working out modalities to better the lives of citizens of Langtang North.(NAN)
