Linda dreamt of a happy ever after kind of relationship with any man she will date and thereafter get married to. But the reality that confronted her was the opposite.
The first time she had sex outside of her relationship with a boyfriend was out of sheer stupidity. An uncle of hers in his early 30s forced himself on her after she naively mistook his interest for an innocent affection of an uncle for his niece.
A minute after penetration she sensed herself moving to the rhythm of his thrust as she betrayed herself to the pleasure she was feeling.
Though she was into a relationship with Dave whom she loved, enjoyed his company and the way he makes love to her but she couldn’t resist going for an encore with Uncle Greg, a secret affair that continued for years. She portrayed an image of a faithful girlfriend to Dave whom she later got married to.
She has had flings with some other men for several other reasons. Top of the reasons for the flings she has had outside of her relationship was money. Some guys just don’t mind how much they spend to get a girl they have eyes for. Their offers can be tempting and a few where successful with her.
One example was Barrister Audu, a colleague of her boss in the law firm where she works as a secretary. As a lady she wasn’t ignorant of the fact that the lawyer has eyes for her. It was his style that left her confused. It started with A N100,000 cheque written in her name that he dropped on her table in a brown envelope with a note: “A token of appreciation for been such a hard working person in my friend’s chambers.”
After two weeks and a couple of meetings after office hours her heart melted and she began to develop affection for Barrister Audu. When it happened she was ready and eager to appreciate him for his kindness and friendship. They met only once, an all-night affair that she knew won’t happen again but they had remained good friends afterwards. Barrister Audu, who is married, was so discreet about their fling that even his friend, who is Linda’s boss never suspected that his very responsible secretary has had a bang with Audu.

Linda’s wedding to Dave which ranked as the happiest day of her life was a small affair with family and friends. With a very strong determination to have a successful marriage she pledged within her spirit to be faithful to Dave.
The first time she cheated as a married woman was during an uncle’s funeral in the village. She had travel to attend the burial without her husband who was busy with work.
Even though the sane part of her fought against the temptation of going to see Uncle Greg when he invited her for a private discussion, the location and the moment he chose for the meeting didn’t leave her in doubt about his intention.
Even though she resisted, another part of her craved for him. He knew that after a brief period of trying to fend him off once he penetrates she will let go and make love to him like hell.
As Uncle Greg rightly predicted, Linda gasped, wrapped her arms round him as he twisted his waist gently at first and increased the tempo gradually as she let go of her resistance and gave him herself fully.
Linda believed in the idea of fidelity both in a relationship and in marriage and has never set out to cheat on her husband deliberately. It has always happened accidentally. She has never been caught and might even pass to most people as a very faithful person, but only she knows the reality of who she really is.
Is she unfaithful? She doesn’t agree she is. She’s only a victim of circumstance. Next week on infidelity, the story of Dave.
