Gusau – Some merchants currently transporting livestock from Zamfara to Lagos by train on Wednesday expressed happiness with the services being rendered by Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).
The livestock merchants also lauded the Federal Government’s effort over the return of train services, especially the freight in the state.
The state Chairman, Cattle Sellers Association, Alhaji Aminu Garba, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau.
>Garba, said more than 1,000 cattle have been transported safely so far, saying the services had created smooth operations for merchants.
“Our animals can now reach Lagos within two days without us having any fear of accident, vehicle problems or insecurity while on transit,’’ the chairman said.
>Garba said the NRC’s excellent services had also reduced the travelling hours and the cost of transportation.>
He, however, expressed happiness over the security arrangement being provided by the NRC.
`The cargoes are locked-up and fully secured when the animals (goats, cattle and sheep) are loaded and ready for transportation,’’ Garba said.
