AWKA – The wives of the local government chairmen in Anambra on Monday, commended Gov. Willie Obiano for socio-economic development of the state.
Mrs Chinyere Umeoji, the Chairperson of Council’s Chairmen’s Wives in Anambra, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to her, the members of the association will give support to the governor in his efforts at improving on the legacies of his predecessors.
Umeoji said the state had witnessed economic transformation, security and agricultural development in recent times.
“Obiano, in the past few months of his administration, has recorded successes on security and agriculture.
“The governor is all out to fight the criminals and kidnappers in the state who scare away investors and tourists; this is a great achievement,’’ she said. [eap_ad_2] In agriculture, she said the governor had commissioned farms project at Anaku in Ayamelum Local Government Area.
According to her, the project has the capacity to produce 120,000 metric tonnes of rice and create more than 1,000 jobs.
Umeoji, the wife of Aguata Local Government chairman, also commended the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan which she said had been replicated in many states. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
