Warri (Delta) – Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, General Overseer, Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Effurun, Delta, on Friday donated items worth millions of Naira to the state government.
Fufeyin donated the items through his foundation, “Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation” at the church premises.
Items donated were: Hand sanitisers, Nose masks and a full articulated vehicle load of Indomie noodles.
He said that the aim was to cushion the effect of the two weeks lockdown order by the state government on the people.
The state government had last week announced the order which took effect from Wednesday April 1, as a measure to contain the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“We hereby present these items through the Delta Government to reach out to people who will be at home during this lockdown period.
“We have hand sanitisers, nose masks and cartons of Indomie noodles for the people.
“The foundation has sent some items to villages to cushion the effect of the lockdown order on the rural dwellers,” he said.
Fufeyin appealed to other clergy men in the country to support their governments by way of showing love in this trying time.
“What is happening right now is designed by God and we do not have the right to question Him.
“Therefore, I am appealing to all clergy men in the world to support their governments. This is the time to show love,” he said.
The prophet cautioned people against fear noting that God had given us the power to overcome fear.
“COVID-19 will be over, what is happening now is for people to move closer to God and serve Him diligently,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Delta government, Mr Kelly Penawou, Special Adviser to the governor on Local Government Affairs, commended the foundation for the kind gesture.
“On behalf of the governor and people of Delta, I say thank you for the laudable kind gesture toward the people of Delta for the support on the fight against the COVID-19 currently going on.
“We received your gift and we will pass the message to the governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa,” he said.
Also present at the event were Dr Michael Tidi, Chairman, Warri South Local Government Area and Mr Ramson Onoyake, Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Area.
They both thanked Fufeyin for the donation and urged other men of God to emulate him.
