Port Harcourt- Mr Tonye Princewill, Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Rivers, on Monday denied any involvement in the alleged sale of assets belonging to the state government.
Princewill made the denial at a forum organised by the Federated Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Port Harcourt.
‘’I was not involved when the state government was doing what they did in connection with the sales of government assets in Rivers,’’ he claimed.
Princewill, however, agreed that he introduced the contractor handling the construction of the state Medical Diagnostic Centre to the state Commissioner for Health.
The LP governorship candidate described the project as an embarrassment to the government, and also expressed reservation with the ongoing Port Harcourt mono rail project.

Princewill however pledged to complete the projects started by Gov. Rotimi Amaechi, if given the mandate by Rivers people.
According to him, only Labour Party has the ideology to bring about meaningful changes in the lives of the people of Rivers, and challenged other contestants to a public debate on their programmes.
He assured that if elected, he would resolve the contention over the oil wells ceded to Bayselsa through dialogue.
The candidate pledged to create jobs for the people and come up with robust economic programmes to halt the relocation of companies from the state. (NAN)
