The company’s Head of Consumer Service, Mrs Temitope Akintilebo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the event was
held to appreciate customers in the zone, particularly young women.

She said “we are giving women a tasteful makeover such that they can be who they want to be.

“We believe that as a woman, you can be beautiful and successful at the same time.”

Akintilebo said that the programme would move from Enugu to Umudike in Abia, Owerri in Imo and Uyo in Akwa Ibom to meet young women.

NAN reports that participants were taught the art of dish making, table setting, food presentation and encouraged to learn and prosper in it.

One of the participants, Elizabeth Kadejo, a corps member encouraged Nestle to keep up the good work as she was very enlightened and encouraged to have a business of her own in the food industry.

Another corps member, Ovioje Vanessa, said: “I learnt to be an entrepreneur, I do not have to wait for a job, I can do something small and come out fabulous.”

Some students who participated at the event, Amara Nwosu and Brandy Nnadi, described the programme as worthwhile.

One of the young men who attended the event, Inalegwu Odo, confirmed that he enjoyed learning how to prepare a meal.

He said “as a man, I just came to see what advice I could get to pass on to my female friends but I was also encouraged by
the chef.

“I thought cooking was strictly for the women but now I know better.”

Highlights of the event were the introduction of Afrique Sauce by Chef Kefas Punshak and presentation of gifts to participants.
