He said that corruption which used to be hosted by the former ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), is now being swept under the carpet by the APC.
The senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had to reverse the reinstatement of Maina due to wide spread condemnation by Nigerians.
He added that thereafter, the facilitators of Maina’s recall started trading blames amongst themselves.
The senator disclosed this in a series of tweets on his twitter handle @ShehuSani.
According to him, “Corruption has become a cat with nine lives. It used to be hosted under the shade of an umbrella now it’s swept under the carpet.
“The referee ruled that Mainaldo’s goal was offside; that was after the spectators protested. The linesmen blaming each other”.
Alhaji Abdulrasheed Maina was the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms.
Sundiata Post recalls that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), declared Abdulrasheed Maina wanted for his role in the fraudulent biometric contracts through which himself and former Head of Service, Steve Oronsaye, and two others allegedly stole over N2 billion of pension funds. Oronsaye, however, has been discharged and acquitted by the court.
But in a controversial circumstance, Maina was reabsorbed into the civil service, promoted to the position of director and posted to ministry of Interior.
However, Buhari on Monday ordered immediate disengagement of Abdulrasheed Maina from the civil service and asked the Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, to explain the circumstances that led to the recall of Maina and his posting to the Ministry of Interior.
Prior to the presidential order, the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau had denied knowledge of the Maina’s reinstatement and having hands in his posting to his ministry.
