KADUNA – The Shehu Idris College of Health Science Technology, Makarfi, Kaduna state, would resume on Monday, Feb. 23.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the institution was shut following a fire incident that gutted 25 rooms in the female hostel block B a fortnight ago.
Speaking with journalists on Tuesday in Zaria, the College Provost, Mr Garba Musa-Abdullahi said: “Some two weeks back, fire incident had forced us to close the institution and suspended all academic activities.

“All academic activities will commence immediately.
“We are using this medium to thank Kaduna State Government, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for their assistance.”
Musa-Abdullahi also lauded the sole administrator, Makarfi Local Government Council, Alhaji Magji Ahmed, the Zazzau Emirate Council and all other well wishers who assisted or consoled with the institution over the incident.
While describing the incident as a destiny, the provost assured that all necessary measures had been taken to avert a repeat of the ugly development.
“We want to assure parents that we will ensure that no student is affected in anyway, because we have sat with the management and the council to ensure conducive learning atmosphere is provided,” he said. (NAN)
