He also said that one or two teachers from each local government in the state would be sent for training overseas in his first year in office.
The governorship candidate promised that his administration would be honest with them, saying as a human being, he might not be right at all times.
He said that he would ensure regular and prompt payment of both salaries of workers and the pension of retirees.
Earlier, the teachers complained about irregular payment of their salaries and pension for retirees.
They also called on the governorship candidate, who they prayed for to win the election, to help in closing the disparity between teachers’ salaries and those of health workers.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Makinde, who was met by a huge crowd at the palace of the Okere of Saki, was received by the Okere-in-Council and given royal blessing.
Makinde also visited the Bagii of Sakiland, High Chief Muritala Oyedepo, who prayed for him and complained of lack of potable water supply in the area. (NAN)
