The Benue State government has announced that flights from the state capital, Makurdi would kick off from August 1.
The state government also stated that it has approved Overland Overland Airlines to commence scheduled passenger services from Makurdi to Abuja.
Benue state Commissioner for Information Justine Amase, who made this disclosure to newsmen in Makurdi, said the decision was taken by the state executive council.
Amase added that the flight ticket per passenger would go for N18,000, while the government has opted to augment other monetary involvements to ensure a successful flight operations.
It was gathered that airlines operating in the state packed up in the past due to high operational cost and non-availability of passengers.
