Abuja – A Fulani sociocultural organisation, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), on Wednesday advised the Federal Government to set up a high powered judicial tribunal to investigate and prosecute all those involved in the Mambilla communal clash in Taraba.
Alhaji Sale Bayari, Secretary-General of GAFDAN, made the call at news conference in Abuja on the recent massacre of some Fulanis in Mambila, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba.
He also appealed to the federal government to ensure the provision of medical and relief materials to the affected victims of the heinous crime, and to recover all rustled cattle and return them to their rightful Fulani owners.
“We call on the federal government to also pay full compensation for all human lives lost, animals killed or rustled, houses destroyed and other looted properties, and to ensure the rehabilitation of all those affected,’’ Bayari said.
Similarly, he urged the federal government to establish a Military formation on the inaccessible Mambilla Plateau terrain in order to provide security in the event of any crisis, and to protect and secure national assets in the area.
Bayari, who is also a member, Board of Trustees of the organisation, called on the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICC) to arrest people who are directly or indirectly involved in the massacre.
