Lagos, Dec. 12, 2014 (NAN) A 19-year-old man, Samson Ifeanyi, who allegedly stole a motorcycle valued at N117,000 from one Ifeanyi Anum, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Ifeanyi, a resident of No.30, Apena St., Olodi- Apapa, Lagos, is facing a two- count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Inedu told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 8 at No. 64 Ladiga St., Olodi-Apapa, Lagos.
Inedu said that the accused with others now at large, stole a motorcycle with Reg. No.FST379QK, property of Anum.
“The complainant said that Ifeanyi and his cohorts took his motorcycle from where he parked it and tried to abscond with it.
“A security man, Mr Daniel Kanu, who saw them trying to steal the bike ran after them and caught Ifeanyi, while the others escaped.”
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened the provisions of Section 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr Adeyemi Amos, granted the accused bail in the sum of N 50,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan.9,2015 for trial.(NAN)
