Lagos – A 24-year-old man, Emmanuel Olojede, who allegedly stole two car batteries were on Tuesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Olojede, who resides at Ikorodu area of Lagos, is being tried for stealing, an offence he denied committing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Edet Akadu, told the court that Olojede stole the batteries from two different cars, parked at Church Gate Warehouse, Iyana Isolo Mushin, Lagos, on Jan. 13.
The prosecutor said that the stolen batteries belonged to Mr Tosin Mustapha.
He said that the security guard caught Olojede in the act.
The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Section 287 prescribes three years jail term for offender.
The magistrate, Mr K.O. Ogundare, granted Olojede bail in the sum of N80, 000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Jan. 24 for hearing.
