KANO – A Shari’a Court in Kano on Wednesday ordered a 25- year-old man, Abba Jafaru, to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly stabbing his brother, Isyaku Haruna.
The Police docked the accused at the court sitting at Sabon Gari, Kano for allegedly stabbing Haruna.
The accused was charged for causing hurt and being in possession of a dangerous weapon, an offence which contravenes Sections 124 and 231 of the Kano State Sharia Law.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
According to the First Information Report (FIR), one Salisu Ismail of Rimin Kebe Quarters reported the case on March 31 at the Zango Police Division, Kano.
The report said that the accused stabbed his brother (Haruna) with a cutlass, on his head.
The report further revealed that as a result of Jafaru’s action, he (Haruna) sustained a deep cut.
When the charges were read out to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Malam Abubakar Ayagi, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter to April 15, for further mention.(NAN).
