Sango-Ota(Ogun) – A 26-year-old man, Sunday Julius, was on Tuesday charged before an Ota Senior Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly stealing a mattress valued at N40,000.
Julius, who lives at No. 21 Oduleye St., Iyana Iyesi, Ota, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 4, 2015 at about 11:00 p.m. at Ijaba, in Ota.
Gbesi said that the accused was apprehended while stealing a mattress valued at N40,000.00, belonging to one Susan Kayode.
He said that the offence contravened Section 319(a) of the Criminal Code, Revised Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded `not guilty’ to the charge.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr S.O. Banwo, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of M50,000.00, with one surety in like sum.

Banwo said that the surety should reside within the magisterial district and must also be gainfully employed.
He ordered that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means, submit four passport photographs, provide a valid means of identification and show payment of one year tax to the Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned till Jan. 14 for hearing. (NAN)
