Lagos – A 26-year-old man, Moses Akangbe, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for alleged stealing of N10, 000 belonging to one Habib Abubakar in Lagos.
Akangbe, who resides at No. 265 Ipaja Rd., Agege Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Michael Unah, told the court that the accused with some others still at large committed the offences on Dec. 29 at Kokumo St., Dopemu Agege, Lagos.
He said that the accused with his friends forcefully collected Abubakar’s N10, 000 and took to their heels while he asked a cobbler to polish his shoes for him.
“Abubakar ran after them and caught the accused and reported the matter at the police station,’’ he said
Unah said the offences contravened Section 258 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Gbajumo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N5, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Feb. 3 for trial. (NAN)
