Lagos – A 27-year-old unemployed man, Ibrahim Aiyelangbe, was Wednesday, charged before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court Lagos for allegedly stealing a video games valued at N40, 000 and N19, 000 cash.
Aiyelangbe of no fixed address, however, pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of trespass and stealing.
The Magistrate, Ms O. H. Olagbande, adjourned the case to May 19 for judgment.
Earlier the Prosecutor, Insp. Ingobo Emby, told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 9, at No. 26, Axon Engineering, Glover Rd., Ikoyi, Lagos.
He said that the accused unlawfully entered the premises of Axon Engineering through the fence and stole the item and the cash.
Aiyelangbe, allegedly stole one 2003 model of electronic game valued at N40, 000 and the sum of N19, 000, property of one Joshua Bature.
Emby said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 306 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 285 provides a three- year jail term for offenders. (NAN)
